Lawsuits, discrimination complaints or harassment claims are costly both financially and to company culture. Programs that specifically aim to promote respectful behavior decrease an organization’s risk and its associated costs.

Risk Management

Our program contains various tracks, with each track helping employees understand a new perspective and upskill for respectful behavior. We offer three types of tracks:

  • Demographic tracks, in which employees are put in the perspective of someone from a given demographic group and experience the work-related biases and disrespect typically experienced by people from that group, as well as how employees can promote inclusion going forward. Examples include the Black Man track, the Black Woman track, and the White Woman track.

  • Sexual harassment prevention, in which employees are put in various situations to understand how certain interactions can be seen as harassment—or a slippery slope toward harassment—and ways even bystanders can address such situations. There are two tracks of this type: one for all employees, and one that specifically addresses the responsibilities of supervisors. These tracks conform to CA and NY state requirements.

  • Leadership skills for civility: This track helps leaders deepen their soft skills for respectful engagement.

Incivility and the consequences of bias, discrimination, harassment, and microaggressions cost companies and employees in time, money, lost productivity, brand loyalty, morale, company attractiveness for potential employees, partners and customers, and legal risks.

Live in Their World (LITW) is a program to help all employees of a company become more sensitive to bias, disrespect, harassment and their effects, and to develop more respectful and productive ways to interact with each other. This provides risk mitigation from top to bottom: both for the company (structural risk) and for individual employees (individual risk).

The LITW program is an essential part of any successful corporate Ethics, Compliance and Governance program. The program is subscription as a service, with employees going through different tracks portraying issues related to diversity, to sexual harassment, and to leadership skills.

Our program provides training in small, powerful doses spread throughout the year, year over year, for more effective learning and retention in addressing miscommunication, disrespectful behavior, and the slippery slope in which such behavior can lead to misconduct. Our program is designed to change workplace behavior, and we measure that as part of every track.
